u can easily send files from phone to ur pc by irda without any progs but on windows XP 1-active the irda in ur phone 2-then send any file from your phone to the computer 3- a window will appear ask you to accept recieved file 4-click ok 5-you will see the file u sent on the desktop it's working on XP

But you will need a IrDA-device for the computer. It's easier to get a BT-dongle.

Yeah, but his phone don't have BT, and IrDA don't need crazy configurations and strange software to install, like on BT. ;D

But you need to install software for BT to work. IrDA is just plug and play.

Yep, as easy as that But IrDA is very slow I use IrDA to send small files and my dear DCA-510 to send larger files. Here you can compare the speed When sending a 2150kb file from PC-->phone: DCA-540: 1 minute and 3 seconds (average speed: 34,1 kb/s) Bluetooth: ca. 3 minutes and 20 seconds (average speed ca. 12kb/s) DCA-510: 5 minutes and 55 seconds (average speed: 6 kb/s) IrDA: 12 minutes and 50 seconds (average speed: 2,8 kb/s)

Tested! M65, sending 2,29Mb file with DCA540, toke me 1 minute and 9 seconds

BT-speed is about 12KiB per sec on all Siemens phones I've tested (S55, S65, S75).

i didn't found DCA-510 in the market so i phoned siemens egypt company they said it it about 40 dollar because it is orginal so i bought the irda about 5 dollars

Okay, my Sunsway USB IrDA Dongle costed 195 norwegian KR =25 euro or 30 dollar. There's nothing to complain about

25€ was my BT dongle price last year... I think the shop were i bought the IrDA dongle, stole me! anyway on that time, i didn't knew too much about those hardware plug-n-play stuff...

This is a dongle: It's actually my Sunsway IrDA dongle to be more precise.
