Hi all. Altough I am new here, I've been a Siemens fan for many years now. It began with CX65 that I bought from eBay (germany) and I really loved that phone. But I never managed to tweak it, beacuse I didn't get all the right data cable for that job.
Sorry to say that phone stopped working in 2006. I think the pcb had cracked or somehing. Well then I used my way too old Mokia 3330 "Players phone", as they advertised it here in Finland.
Then I got myself a S88, cool camera but it lacked in really many points. I had to do my own "patent" antenna to keep it with decent signal strenght. My home is just in a area that has very bad signal.
I got frustrated with my S88, and when I checked (once again) eBay for a decent priced SXG75, I found one with price of 119€. With the delivery costs it was 134€ and I think that really is decent. At this time there is only two sellers and the prices are 170-190€ without delivery costs...
But to get to the point. I have downloaded many programs that I found from many forums. And I am really into tweaking my upcoming SXG75 to my personal needs. The Main Question: What data cable(s) I need to get my phone "maxed out"?? They have to be Original Siemens, right?

Okay, got her now. But I got problems right from the start... The seller sent the phone bulk packed and with a 650mAh(!) china-battery. Well, I plugged it to the wall charger and She said (in german though) "Wrong battery-type, please examin or replace" Well, I tried to plug it to my computer with a No-name data cable (GS-AC108 SIE C65) that I have found in many forums... all of them are problem-related posts XP installed automatically BenQ Siemens Dioagnostics Interface and BenQ Siemens NMEA Device. And I think there was some BenQ Siemens Mobile Phone too. So could it mean that this data cable is capable of FW update? And one odd thing... I am not SO sure of all fw numbers and codes, but SXG Komunikátor shows FW version W6250C-MMTO-1.4.33_3 1 date is Dec 08 2005 21:00:00. So what FW I got here? I mailed the seller immediately after finding out that battery problem, and insisted that they send me a right type of battery. I also tried my old siemens CX65 battery (should be around 1100mAh, or even more) but same thing happens. Yeah, and Komunikátor shows battery condition 0% So should I just let it sit with the wall gharger and pay no attention to that error message??

Well. The seller answered quite fast and they sent me a "New Original BenQ-Siemens battery for SXG75 in a sealed, never opened box" via UPS. Hopefully it is fast delivery. It's a bit weird that it was a bulk packed phone. Well, price was also low.

SXG75 need to use 1000mah or more batteries. (original from siemens is 1000) When i place my M65 battery on it, it give the wrong type battery too.
you see your FW by *#06# and then, press the navigation pad to the right, and scroll down until SVN. There, it will say your current FW.
Well, at least those programs worked with your phone. my favorite for SXG is BMC from bezysoftware.net Maybe it can upgrade the FW. Usually, SXG owners or use FW22 or FW26. I am on 26.

I am sure that my phone doesn't include Finnish language, but I found this zip. file from one place, and it has a file called SXG75_W5V0_1433_3_SGLPK_009.05_dk-SWEFIN-Retail_22_0097.exe It is a setup file that installs Siemens 3G Swup FU v. 1.0.5.4. So do anyone of you know if the SWEFIN stands for Swedish/Finnish? The startup screen gives two options, software update and customization update. What does that customization update mean?
I really need at least a working t9 in Finnish. Don't mind if the phone is in English.

yes, that one have both languages. the customization update, is the one that will format your phone memory, and install new files, including the languages you want in the brew system folders

Thank You! I will try it as soon as I get the battery. I think I'll try the SL91 "SXG91" mod and those patches that can be found here and from kraze1984's site... BTW, today I made a 3.5mm audio adapter according to HHS-550 (700?) schematic found hereSo is that same as HHS-700?

hss700 have louder sound, and the schematic is a bit different when compared to 550. anyway, i have both headsets if you ever have trouble with that sl91 mod, do not freak out, because you just need to delete one file inside the brew root, and the phone will start normally it happened to me, but there's persons who didn't happened

Now it got the battery. Despite that seller said it would be in a "closed, nevere opened box" it was cut open at the bottom. The product seems to be original, but the packaging looks very cheap. There is a hologram, but the BenQ texts surrounding it looks suspicious. Doesn't matter as long as it works! The phone has Swedish language but no Finnish now. And FW is 22. I will try to upgrade to that SWEFIN FW once the battery is full.

Now its in Finnish with SL91 patch but the menu icons are original. Did I do something wrong or how I can activate them? Oh and the battery packing problem solved. It was not opened, just damaged on route. Very sensitive plastic on that one. The missing piece of plastic was in the cardboard box

on the pack you downloaded, check for the "mainmenuapp.bar" file and place it there on the correspondent folder from your phone. "brew - mainmenuapp - res - common"

The file was "mainmenuapp_common.bar" I copied all the files from SXG91-menu_update.rar Now it looks good. The first problem with theme colors was when writing new SMS. There is not enough contrast in colors (text and text background). I tried to write message at a dusk of this mornign in a moving car . It was quite hard... So can I change some colors for my own taste with BenQ Mobile theme editor?

I have a vision of my upcoming theme (if I manage to make one). I noticed that SL91 theme shows background images in full screen, when pre-installed themes show it with bars up and down. I will try to make an VW R-GT/GTI-R theme from my desktop pics. Black and white Passat and metal gray Jetta R-GT... In fullscreen.

yes, with MTE you can make your themes. be sure to fill all the mandatory fields, as to fill all the sound fields, because the lack of only one file won't enable your theme to be used

I've should have thought about one thing... SL91 theme doesn't open with MTE. Maybe I would need some help from kraze1984.
Just tested few .sdt:s and none of them opened in MTE

I tried GPSOne today and got it to work(NOT?) but only on the "number of succesful sessions" keeps counting but latitude or longitude didn't change at all when I drove from work to home.
Session Type: Tracking Mode (App-Driven) Operation Mode: Standalone Execution Agent: PDSM API
Those are the only settings that showed anything. Time (UTC) is correct but thats all.
Also the GPSOne is full of bugs. I can set numbers only with 1 and 0. When I press "About" the text stays and blinks on the screen unless I start the app again, even that wont help always.
I didn't manage to get any working GPRS or Internet or WAP settings despite that I searched all the available data from my carrier settings and tried to mix those settings... All I got was some 403 error, security error, timeout error and "server wont answer" error... or "no service" but I had average signal, so that was not the issue.
I am starting to get frustrated with this. I tried those settings for many hours without any progress. Maybe and just maybe I'll call to my carriers helpdesk tomorrow. Oh, and I got my carrier text twice on my screen. Annoying as h*ll. And no matter how I try to set the logo from phone, nothing happens. Just "saunalahti saunalahti" keeps on showing.
