Installing themes with data cable
Since it is not possible to install Themes for the SXG75/ EF81 on normal way by data cables so far, here is a guide which helps you sort it out.
Needed software * BitPIM * The theme you want to install (e.g. from themes.modopo.com)
Step-to-Step Guide
* Start BitPIM and make a connection to the mobile * Now go to the following directory: brew\mod\cmgr\pp * Make a new folder. Mark the folder pp in the directory tree, then right-click - "Make subdirectory". Call this new folder "thm" (without the quotes) * In the folder thm you now make a folder named "usr" (without the quotes) the same way as just described * We are now in this directory: brew\mod\cmgr\pp\thm\usr * Over "right-click - new file..." you now insert the *.sdt file into the file system * Restart your mobile phone and your theme is installed * Open "my stuff" and go to "my themes". Select the new theme and activate it.
tnx to iver who translated this from german

Great tutorial. I just tested it and it works. I corrected the translation a bit. (I was mixing between the words "file" and "folder")

I have problem with this instruction. I can`t install theme on EF81. When I do everythin like "tutorial" says, I only have a lot of pictures and melodies in their folders on phone, but there is no new theme. Am I doing somethong wrong On SXG75 is easy. With SXG Controller open OBEX explorer an open folder theme on phone. On lef side of explorer select theme from PC right click on mause and click install. Then restart phone. But I can`t connect EF81 with SXG controller

1-> is the theme you got for EF81? 2-> does it end with the described extension you see in the tutorial? 3-> why don't you send the theme by bluetooth to your phone? much more easy

1. Yes 2. sdt extension 3. I have only cable
I tried this tutorial on EF81 and on SXG75 and there was no results, then I found easyer way to install theme on SGX75 (like I wrote) but that progran doesn`t work with EF81. It can`t recognise connection. Other programs can, like: bit pim, SXG komunikator and of course MPM. Cable is ok, I did FW update from FW31 to FW58 with that cable.

you have to try several ports until you find the correct one. btw, obex? you need to change that to brew. once you change, you'll be able to connect.

I've never used sucht tools on my EF81, I only puted the .sdt-files in the Theme folder via my data-cable, or sent them via BT to my phone. Allways worked for me!

of course you can use BMC it is very easy to copy\insert files with bmc. on the left window, the one that have the files on your pc, open the folder that have the file you want. on the right window, from the phone, open the folder you want to paste the file. now, right click the file from the window in the left and select copy. it will then, copy the file to the window in the right, so, the phone.

I followed your tutorial...and upon rebooting the phone started initialising all of the files!
