More important than all, is just preparing the phone. -> install the 3GSwup on your computer, and let it install and replace the USB drivers. -> totally charge up your battery -> remove mem cards -> remove sim card. -> take out the battery for 2 to 5 minutes -> Start the updater -> place back the battery -> plug the phone -> leave the lid closed -> press "start" and follow the upgrade instructions. -> after 10 minutes, it is done.
It is just that. Simpler is impossible. You need the DCA-140 datacable, original. Also, we have a search function on this forum, you can use it too.

Thanks for your quick reply! But i still have some questions: 1. what is this 3GSwup? 2. what do you mean "leave the lid closed"? do you mean the battery cover? 3. why take out battery for 2-5 minutes? will it be worse if i leave it removed for longer? Thank you

1-> it is the firmware you need to download. The technical name is 3GSwupFU 2-> lid closed is = to clamshell closed. Simply don't touch the phone, once the upgrade process is done. 3-> FW58 sometimes bring unexpected results. so far, those steps i pointed are the best ones for a smooth upgrade and a fast stable FW. Taking out the battery will help to kill some running processes in the phone, that can affect the upgrade. You can have it removed longer, no problems with that. Also, you can reset your phone once the upgrade is finished. Just type *#9999# and push the 'call button' If you don't see the english language at first, (in case you upgrade with russian retail FW) you can use the *#0044# code to enable it back.

Thanks again! And another question : I've read in this phones comments that if the patching fails you can try again by activating some kind of emergency download mode or something. I hope i won't need that, but how do i do that? Thanks !

You enable the emergency download by pressing and keeping pressed the # key while you turn it on. Then, you only see the benq-siemens logo.
