1-> connect phone to pc. Phone needs to be turned off 2-> config port to your current com that have your cable. Set speed as 115200 baudrate 3-> click ok to return to WS main screen 4-> check both boxes precheck and procheck (make sure you see the "v" inside them) 5-> Click on start, and then, press briefly the red button of your phone (fast pushes without turning on the phone) 6-> If the bars start moving, then, let it proceed! Of course you need the battery charged. I know you are not that newbie When the WS turn light screen, your phone have been upgraded.

For updating SL4x(i) with a SyncStation:
Turn off the phone, and don't connect it yet. Connect both the datacable and the charger to the station. Untick "precheck", and tick "SyncStation". Start the update procedure, and put the phone on the station.

For SL45i without the syncstation, is the same as the first one. Regarding the brew devices, it is different.
1-> install the 3gswup on your computer 2-< turn off the phone, and turn on again (the pin menu) 3-> connect to the pc, and start the 3gswup 4-< wait a bit, and click on upgrade when the button get unlocked 5-> don't touch anything, and wait until is all done.
