Hey, look at this!
It is one jewel, it is the... SL10!
SL10
SL10 one phone time ahead for 1998. It was the Luxury mobile phone from Siemens, very rare, and expensive at that time.
While all used to be BIIIIGGGG (big as 15 and 16cm) this one was rather small with very interesting features!
The Design and Build Quality
Surprise surprise!
All the phones on this shop are candy bars (or should we say candy bricks?) with the only exception of Motorola StarTac, the only clamshell in the world at that time.
So, SL10 is one slider phone, the first slider in the world! and even have colour display!
Lets pick this SL10 and have fun.
The phone is only 13cm when closed, but once slided up, it is nearly 16cm.
The phone looks strong, but it have one big minus. The display glass will not support one fall.
The protective display window craked when the phone hit the floor, but it does not interfere with the reading stuff, since with the backlight on, you almost can't notice it.
This phone came with one LiIon battery, with 550mah. The battery size is identical to the C45 one.
Display
This phone support the 3 basic colours, green, red and blue.
The display fonts are rather big, even if thin, just the 90's design for cellphones display fonts.
Battery indicator and network indicator as we are used, with out phones.
Funny fact, is that when you see the operator name, below it, play one colourfull animation with hexagons changing colours, very cute!
The display light is something like one very soft almost grey green.
Even in sun, you can read nicelly this big display, supporting up to 6 text lines.
Menu
You can acess the menu using the dedicated menu key.
It will appear one list menu, 3 options at each time of 9 total options without counting the service sim menu.
It is divided like this:
-> Ringer 1
-> Messaging 2
-> Divert 3
-> Control Use 4
-> GSM Service 5
-> Time, Charge 6

Very simple nemu, easy to work, and under each menu, you can see the ***info*** option, that will give you helpfull hints.
Keypad and Slider
Well spaced keypad, and once the slider is enabled and uncover the numeric keypad, you have 1 piece contruction keypad, with one well balanced illumination (the numbers light up almost white, and the letters in green), made in one material similar to vinyl.
No options to set shotcuts on this keypad, the * key only work for commuting between Caps or lower case under messaging or writting names in the contacts.
The main keis are the usual receive and hang call, the softkeys, and the agenda plus the menu key.
All keys are easy to use, even if the softkeys produce some noise and are a bit hard to press.
The slider can lock or unlock the phone keypad, also let you anser and end calls while you slide it up or down.
