Problem:Phone passed away after a lengthy battle against terminal firmware malfunction (i.e. would not start-up but continued to reboot). Solution:Click the link below to learn: [ How to update SXG75] Result:I now have a fully functioning (though as yet not fully re-configured) SXG75. I had virtually given up attempting to boot up the phone and was considering throwing it away (perhaps even to buy that attractive new BenQ magnesium-alloy cigarette case). However, if you find yourself in the position I was in today, do not depair. It is possible to update the firmware and to continue to use this expensive handset. Conclusion.Firmware update proceeded smoothly. The phone was functioing after the firmware update. This meant that there were no hardware faults (i.e. the battery and MMC card are both in good working condition). The ease of firmware update calls into question the decision of BenQ-Siemens so far in with holding this update program. In this case, the update to fix the malfunctioning firmware may be carried out by the owner of the handset without the requirement to send the phone to a service centre. The decision of BenQ-Siemens to withold this firmware (as indeed the original firmware, which is absent from the CD-ROM shipped with the phone) is questionable and dubious.
