Is it possible to use an M35 as a modem for internet? Though it has no GPRS.... But it can use GSM? 9,6 kbps?

Yes, you can Install the modem as standart 36000 or something modem. Then, you need one number to dial up. Btw is so slow that will be a pain... Only nice for mail or text loading. Note that it will taxed by minute spent on your card.

Thanks a lot My father has an M35 and never wants to change phone, but he wants to use the phone as modem. Now, where can I get a suitable cable?

Well, i have one original cable, but i think the generic ones could work, but i'm a bit unsure. Just in comparation, my M55 generic cable couldn't work as internet cable, while the original does Currently is a bit hard to find cables for that generation. Better your dad to get one S35 (and can do it with IrDA) Btw, the best advice is to tell your dad to upgrade. We can't stop in one era and stay there forever

I have told him that the phone is out of date, but he just uses the phone for SMS and calls... He says he wants a very rugged phone, and that he has not seen anything that he can compare with M35 when it comes to that...

Maybe ME45? One legend! But i also have the feeling that M35 is a bit more rugged

Sandy, could you maybe make a description on how to make a datacable for the standard Lumberger connector. You say you have the original cable, maybe you could use it for the guide? I once had it, but after that my old ME45 died, I sold it. Now I got a newer ME45, but no cable.

Or you can use an ohm meter and test all pins and make a theoretical cable.. But isn't there any schema for the DCA500? It might be usefull, I think..

I know, but the only difference should be the order the tx, rx etc are connected in the lumberger connector.
