You can adjust screen brightness of your S88. There is an adjust screw on the back of the screen unit. It is very sensitive so it would be better to adjust it very very small amount at a time. Or if you dare and can, keep the battery in connection so you will see the result immediately.
You can set it really bright. But then the colors will fade. Or you can set it to darker, so your battery keeps on going longer perhaps. I haven't tested the effect on battery life.

and it is better to not abuse very much on this, and the screwdriver need to be exactly the same size of the screw's head, ir it will be damaged. i did the same on my mc60 display

I accidentally destoyed two leads of the flexible "wire" the "wire" just broke from the inner corner! But I managed to fix it I tell ya, no mini solder tip for that! Had to manage with a big-arse (or ass, if the board doesn't censore it ) tip... Almost lost my one and only camera!
