CROSSGRADE METHOD ME45/S45 TO S45i v04
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tools Required:
1-> Siemens S/ME45 (still functioning)
2-> Flash cable (please note that the flash cable has different configuration with the original cable from Siemens)
3-> A working fine PC (preferably Windows 2000)
4-> Software:
- V_KLay v2.5 (or latest)
- SM45Toolsv12
- Siemens Quick EEPROM v3.2
5-> Firmware S45i v04 winswup (http://eh.student.utwente.nl/~landy/S45i -> login: mobile | pass: elibom)
6-> Strong will to do it
Instructions to be followed:
1-> Make sure the minimum capacity of battery is 50% (it’s better to have the developer menu activated to know the exact percentage of the battery)
2-> Connect your phone to the computer using the flash cable (and make sure the COMM-port and baud rate are set correctly)
3-> Backup all of the data (address book, organizer, and flex memory data) using SDES (for precaution)
4-> Turn off the mobile phone
5-> Run the V_Klay software
6-> Click the refresh button and soft-click the ignition button on the phone to have it detected by V_Klay software (please specificly select 3618 or ME45 Bootcore-bug)
7-> If it’s undetected, re-click the refresh button and unplug-and-plugin-again your mobile phone with the flash cable before re-soft-click the ignition button on the mobile phone (redo it again if it’s still undetected)
8-> Generate a fullflash Backup by clicking the flash tab and click the read memory button and save the file in the buffer of the program into a secure place (no need to set anything on the flash tab, and please also note that on version 3.3 to come it has auto FUBU generating when the mobile is connected to the V_Klay for the first time)
9-> Exit from the software of V_Klay
10-> Run the S45i_04 WinSWUP
- Skip the pre-check
- Click start button and then soft-click the ignition button on the mobile phone
- Wait until finish and turn off the firmware updater application
11-> Run the V_Klay once again
12-> Apply the patch as follow (copy-paste the following information into the blank field in V_Klay and then click apply patch button):
;disable 1st CRC -> uncomment the following address if the flash type is not CE/BA20 (the flash type can be seen during the WinSWUP upgrade)
;298AE2: DA CC
;298AE3: CD 00
;298AE4: DC CC
;298AE5: 59 00
2A9156: 2D 0D
;s45i patch
2CB102: 3D 0D
;open ServiceMode
2963CA: 20 0A
13-> Exit from the V_Klay
14-> Unlock your mobile phone using SM45Toolsv12 (click the Read Phone button on IMEI tab, and then soft-click the ignition button on the mobile phone, then click the unlock button, and wait until it’s finish before quitting the application)
15-> Patch EEPROM block 68 for network repair & GPRS with Siemens Quick EEPROM v3.2 (uncheck everything except Disable Aerocheck & Fix Operator Setting, soft-click the ignition button, and wait until it’s finish before quitting the application)
16-> Turn on your mobile phone, and your S/ME45i is ready to be applied with other patches (have fun!)
